Chick, chick, chick, chick

Well it's official. We are going to be selling chicken!
I think we will sell up to 30 of the 68 that we have. We will be delivering them all on one day once they are butchered. They will be bagged and kept on ice until they reach their destination. We can only sell them whole and yes this is legal. We are paying a certified chicken killer ;) We will be charging $3.50 a pound. We'll have a scale and weigh them there with you. The chickens are usually 5-6 pounds each, much bigger than a chicken you would buy at save-on and there is much less waste. The chickens will be ready at the end of July/beginning of August.

These chickens will be living the good life. They will live in a portable chicken pen so they will have 24/7 access to grass and bugs. We are planning on feeding them hot mash which makes for a nice tasting bird (or so we've been told) Our feed will not be "organic" but our birds are not given antibiotics.

If you are interseted please let me know and let me know how many birds you would like :)

you can save us 4-5

Do you purchase non antibiotic feed?
.. just wondering because most feeds have the antibiotics in it.

and can you tell us more about the hot mash? i have never heard of it for chickens.

Was it hard getting the permit to sell the chickens? I heard there's a lot of rigamole to go through.
Good luck with your venture!! I'll let you know if we want any.
