New fabric

Well today I was browsing looking for a cute outfit for baby Buster. I have the necessities for him but I still wanted to just have something that was extra cute for his whole, coming home and first day a church milestones. I do have some cute things, but they've been worn by the others and while I really am fine with that, it's kinda nice for them to have one special thing of their own. So I did find a very sweet Kushies sleeper in Premie (which is kinda the same size of one of my newborns, premie is not all that premie anymore) at the medical center and I still really like it but for 21.00 I just couldn't do it. I'm way too cheap. So I thought before I commited to anything that I'd go browse fabricland to see what I could find. This was the first flannel that I laid eyes on and low and behold flannel is 50% off!!! Well I got three meters of it and two meters of the brown all for a little over 17 dollars. I can make a lot more with that than one sleeper!!! I also have a knit/ jersey type shirt that you can see in the top of the picture that is the perfect green that I got a paint splatter on so I'm going to use that to make some other things to go with the flannel. I am perdy excited. This is really the first time that I've gotten excited about sewing for this little guy!

I'm also in the process of attempting to bleach some little quilted pants from gap so that I can dye them brown. I know that quilted sounds weird, but they are super cute and if I can get them brown they would also be a perfect match with the fabric. Tomorrow I'm hoping to head into the clever cubs den to check out a sweater that I've been given a heads up on. Thanks Christy ;) I hope it's still there!

How your baby's growing:Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

29 weeks!

This is getting crazy. Going way too fast! I will not post about the changes happening to me as written by babycenter as they mostly focus on constipation and hemmeroids, I'll just tell you all that my hemmeroids and I are doing quite well ;) HAHA

How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

My wish list.

I didn't think I'd do this but then I was browsing gap and old navy and what'dya'know! Okay the little boots kill me! They are just like Daddy's Blundstones!

It's ordered!!!

Well after much saving, and my husband chipping in the last bit as an early Christmas present, I ordered it today!

The bosch universal PLUS! It's the newest model from them and I'm SO SO SO excited!!! I even got to buy the grain mill attatchment!!! It's still not available for shipping yet. It should take a few more days for the supplier to get it. She didn't think it would be more than a few days and then 10 days shipping. So I'm really hoping that I'll be able to get it by the beginning of December. I hope I can avoid the majority of my christmas baking until then. YAY!

oh and did I mention...

YAY!!!

Emma's new outfit.

Okay so I made Emma a new outfit tonight. I'm not totally happy with the shirt, but it is cute. I think that leaving the elastic looser would help. I'll have to try another one. I'm SO happy with the skirt and long for the day that I can make myself one without looking like a very obiese mermaid ;) In case you couldn't tell Emma really loved modeling! And one for the cute factor. Adon really wanted to be in the pictures too.. I did not make his pyjamas though.

The latest

So this is the sewing stuff that I finished up today. A new Kimono and some Yoga Pants. I had intended for the yoga pants to fit about a 12 month old but I think that I will sell them as yoga capri's for size 2. They were stinking cute on Ephrim I must say. And I'm hoping that I'll have time to make a new shirt for Emma.. check back tonight to see if it's done.
After my shirt project today I think the clothes sewing will have to go on hold as I have to sew the curtains and quilt for my room. As always if you want any of these things let me know!!!

Our Newest Creations.

I say "our" because Starla is really the syle behind these things.. I'm just the seamstress. Without Starla and Christy I would make lots of neat ugly things ;)

28 weeks - Third Trimester!!!

Wow I can't believe I'm already this far along. It's a little crazy. I had an ultrasounds yesterday and little baby Buster looks good. Not too big or too small. He also looks exactly like Ephrim did in his ultrasound so it will be very interesting to see him out of the womb. I will try to get his pictures scanned soon. Anyway here is my baby center info for this week.

How your baby's growing:By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

It's here!!!

My book which I won on Biblical Womanhood arrived in the mail today!!! I'm so excited. The best part is that I had forgotten about it, so it's like someone sent me a present! I have a long list of things to do today so it's going to be really hard to not just sit and read all day, but I will reward myself with a chapter every time a job is done. We don't have to go anywhere so this should be feesible. I'll keep you all updated on what it's like!!!

Update

OKay so last night I had a bath and layed in bed for the rest of the evening and everything calmed down and seems to be fine. I will of course take it easy today, no lifting... poor Ephrim;) But yeah whatever was happening, isn't anymore. I'll let you all know if anything changes.

Please pray...

Well I fell down the stairs this morning. It was only the last four steps but I went down them all on my bum. Nothing really happened so I wasn't very worried. My hips were kind of sore but as long as I didn't sit down much it didn't seem to hurt. Then tonight while I was getting dinner ready I squated down to help Ephrim with something and when I stood back up I had a braxton hicks contraction. Nothing unusual accept that this one was more crampy. Still not that big of a deal accept that I proceeded to have them about ever four minutes until I sat down. I'm not all that worried but at the same time they are stronger than usual and they are way more frequent. I sat for about half an hour and I still got a few but not as strong and not as frequently. Then when I got up again they starting coming more often. So I'm going to go have a bath and hopefully that will relax things some more. Please pray that this will all just stop and I can go on with my life without having to be worried. And obviously please pray for Buster's safety (it's his nickname). I dont' think that it would come to preterm delivery but only being 27 weeks and all the very thought of it is a little stressful.

Thanks all!

27 weeks - 13 (15) more to go

How your baby's growing:This week your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
How your life's changing:Your body is gearing up for the final lap, so you may start noticing some new symptoms. Along with an aching back, for example, you may find that your leg muscles cramp up now and then. (I just got my first one this morning, it was mild thankfully)They're carrying extra weight, after all. They may also be aggravated by sluggish circulation and compressed nerves caused by your growing uterus. (As your uterus expands, it puts pressure on the blood vessels that return blood from your legs to your heart and on the nerves leading from your trunk to your legs.) Unfortunately, the cramps are likely to get worse as your pregnancy progresses. Leg cramps are more common at night but can also happen during the day. When a cramp strikes, stretching the calf muscle (by straightening your leg and then gently flexing your toes back toward your shins) should give you some relief. Walking for a few minutes or massaging your calf sometimes helps, too.

Crafty Mondays

Well I can't have crafty Monday's. It sucky but it was just way too hard for Dalen. There were so many things that he needed mine or Adon's help with and we were both preoccupied for most of the day. I can still do things another day but that doesn't really help Tamara. Maybe we can do an evening one day to work on your projects?

Okay the sewing will slow down.

But before then here is my next creation. I love this dress. I'm really going to have to start making some things that can go on a boy ;) I could also make something for my girl. Maybe I'll make a Christmas dress for her. With a matching Kimono Jacket? We shall see.

Okay so Christy and I figured out how to make the baby yoga pants today so I'll have to get her to take a picture of Liv in them... they are really cute and I can't wait to make another pair... with wider legs.

And the matching blanket.

Okay so I'm loving sewing again. I thought I was loving crochet, but it just takes too long ;)

Well tomorrow will be a busy day. Some friends are coming to be creative with me and Dalen and I will be cleaning out our bedroom so that we can drywall it. YAY!

My next creation.

Okay so I'm in love with making these Kimono shirts. This is the next one that I just finished. I used ribbon for the edging because I didn't have the right kind of bias tape and I won't do that again cause it was WAY too hard. It kept slipping off the fabric while I was sewing and I had to redo a lot of spots. Next time I'll just wait until I can buy more bias tape. This Kimono isn't lined like the first one. It's a shirt, the other one is meant to be a jacket.

Update on the aplique

So, I was inspire by my great new friend Tamara and I decided on what to aplique. Let me know what you think!

Renewed creativity.

So I decided that I needed to start sewing some baby clothes that were a little more funky. Here is what last night produced...
I'm still going to do some aplique (sp?) on this Kimono Jacket. I'm not sure what yet. Any ideas? I'm really excited to have figured these out. And they're my own patterns so I can sell them!!! Please pass on your ideas of what to put onto this sweet little jacket.
Thanks
