Okay so there are some ladies in our church that are putting together a care package for the Brousseau's. Mike is going to be leaving in the next day or two with the children to head down south. If you would like to contribute to the care package than please let me know tomorrow. I am going to try to bring all of my stuff to them by 1:00 so you can drop stuff off here first.. just call before hand to make sure that I'm here.
Thank you and please keep praying!

Caleb Brousseau
A young man whose family goes to our church had an accident yesterday while snowboarding. He was testing a jump and over estimated. He got "BIG air" and landed right on his back crushing one of his Lumbars. The diagnosis is that short of a miracle he will never walk again. This is a young man with a lot ahead of him. I know our God, and I know that he is able to heal the lame, but I also know that we are but clay and he is the potter. Caleb's family is asking for prayer for that miracle, so please, pray and ask others to pray.
*on a side note, if you have any other prayer requests, please leave them in comments and I will add them to the blog. We're on our way already so we may as well be a prayer blog! Thank you.

My Uncle
Okay so I recently posted about my uncle Phillip who has lung cancer. I just got an e-mail from my Uncle John giving the details of his diagnosis.
"His diagnosis is Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Lung. He is at at least stage 3a and may be at stage 4. For these stages, without the benefit of a miracle, 50% of patients will survive between 8 and 15 months, even with aggressive treatment. The aggressive treatment can be very debilitating and painful. "
So we need to pray for this miracle. This is another part of the e-mail, please remember that my uncle is full on psychitzophrenic (sp?)
"He has a very bad cough, and keeps wanting to smoke cigarettes. I don't believe he understands the implications of his illness. He is very optimistic and insists that he is getting better. He has a very positive attitude. "
I know that Jesus can reach those who are crazy, I know it's not a very PC way to put it but it is what it is. I have my own beliefs of why people are this way, and I do know there is a lot of bad history to his mental state.
I am praying for him, I've never met him, but today when I saw his picture it terrified me. If any of you have ever seen my father, you would know why.

That is my grandpa with my Uncle Phillip. It's like looking at my father with long hair. I dont' know what God wants for him, but I'm praying that God will reach him. My grandpa is a very strong catholic who loves the Lord with all his heart. But I do not know where he stands on salvation and repentance and the like. My Uncle John is a new believer and they are spending a lot of time with him. But his mind is very confused. Please pray that God would release his mind. That there would be clarity and whatevery demonic principalities are at play would be abolished.
Thank you.
*Update - also to clarify, I'm pretty sure that my Uncle spends his life on the streets and in shelters and such. Just another thing to pray about. Thanks again.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my. I'm trying to figure out how to start a business and guess what. I HAVE NO CLUE! Everything I read is just evaporating! AHHH. I need Dalen. If anyone out there has done this please, I need your help!!!
Okay I got Tom, he's good at teaching me stuff too. I feel better now. All I need is 150 bucks.
Too bad about the 150 bucks. Otherwise I might be able to actually do it! HA!!

Me? Really? WOOHOO!!!

Well I'm gonna be in the paper! How crazy is that! Sarah Artis from the Terrace Standard is buying a sling from me for a friend and while we were chatting she starting asking me all these questions about my "business". Then when I went to drop a brochure off to here she said that she wants to do a small piece about me. She also wanted to take my picture then and there, but I've recently had a very nasty break out and said that I'd bring her a picture next week. Dalen was instantly worried because my "business" isn't registered or anything and my "name" isn't registered either. I have no idea what the deal with all of that is but I guess I'll find out soon if it's that important.
I am pretty excited. But even more excited about Olivia!!! She's a coming!

I have arrived!!! Bring it on!
Well I had an amazing discovery this evening! I have my first grey hair. Well actually it's white. Which I had hoped for, my Momma gets white instead of grey and I was really hoping for the same thing to happen to me. While this may not seem like an overly exciting thing to some, some may even dread it. I have always wanted grey hair! In my hair dying days I had every color under the sun, but I could never find grey!
Now it's finally coming!
Proverbs 16: 31 "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life."
While to many it would seem silly, this really is an amazing day for me. I have sought to obey God in all things, and have failed, but have continued trying. And I do not say this for my own Glory, but for God's because he carried me and strengthened me!
Last night God and I worked some things out, He exposed some lies that I had been believing about myself and showed me who I really was. I am righteous! Not self righteos, because all of my righteousness is there because He is there! It's all his! Now this morning her is my crown of splendor! Thank You Lord!

Prayer Request.
I'm asking if you could all please pray for my Uncle. He is my Dad's brother and he's been diagnosed with lung cancer. I've never met him and I don't know a lot about him accept that he is psychitzophrenic and so getting him to the hospital regularly for chemo isn't a simple thing.
Thank you.
Thank you.

My boy.
Well we've officially began school again, yeah we weren't doing so much this year. But Adon only turned five in December so I'm not too worried. Yesterday he read the word "sad" and today he wrote "Cat in the Hat" on the chalk board. I helped him with "the" because you can't sound it out. I am so excited for him. He is doing very well with his adding and starting with subtracting too.
Once my camera battery is charged I will take a few pictures of his handy work.

Vancouver
Okay so I'm heading to Vancouver in March. I think the 23rd or something for a week or so. The thing is that I'm driving by myself with the kids and while I am really fine with it, not all people are and I'm getting a lot of flack about the whole thing. I can't fly because then I'd have to leave Emma here and I'm just not okay with that and then I wouldn't have a vehicle, and I have to have a vehicle while I'm there. So I'm putting out a sort of add... I need someone to come with me. Even if you just want to drive there and back with me and spend the rest of the time with friends and family? I will pay for the gas and accomidations.. which will most likely be on someone's floor ;) So if there is anyone out there that would like to come with me please let me know!

Raising workers.
So how have you trained your children to be hard workers? I would like to hear from those of you who have trained your children to work hard without complaint and dawdling. What are your tips and tricks? What are your consequences if they do not work hard? Thanks.

Bananas
Okay so there are cases of bananas at the super store right now for 10.00. That's like 16 bucks cheaper than usual. I freeze a lot of them to use in smoothies. Then I dehydrate some, the kids love them, Starla doesn't ;)
I'm also going to make huge batched of banana muffins and freeze them in the muffin cups before they are baked. I did the same thing last night with meatloaf after I got groceries last night. I mixed up enough hamburger to make meatballs and meatloaf for the next two weeks. Then I took the raw meatloafs and froze them in the pan, then I popped them out this morning and put them into a ziplock. Then I cooked the meatballs and seperated them into meal size packages. So I can just take them out, pop them into the sauce until they are warmed through and my meal is ready! I also took the rest of our hamburger and cooked it all and then I saved the fat in a container. I froze them in meal sizes and then I'll just have to warm it up in a pot and add a little fat (Dalen likes it cooked fresh because you get more of a hamburger taste so I'll add a little of the fat for taste)
Anyway That's what I've been up to, that and A LOT of sewing and cleaning... but I'm still not done, well I'll never be done, I'm still not caught up.
