Ephrim!

Okay so I know that this probably seems silly, but I've been thinking of potty training Ephrim. I recently visited with an elderly woman from our church and she told me that the latest any of her four children potty trained was just over a year, she figures us moms now a days are just too lazy to do it any earlier. So I thought on that for a while then I've also noticed that Eprhim will go for an hour or two between pees. So tonight after my walk I noticed that he hadn't peed in his diaper yet. I went for it and put him on the potty. He was SO excited and just giggled a little and didn't at all complain about being on there and then it happened...

HE PEED ON THE POTTY!!!!!

And he knew it, you could tell.. he was so proud and then once I took him off he was clapping! Once I started putting his diaper back on he got mad at me and tried to get away.

So now I'm on the hunt for a potty seat. I think they're fairly cheep so hopefully next friday I'll be able to get one. Hey why not if you can right!

Anyway that's my big exciting news for the day!
God Bless!

I'd love for you to post a comment to tell me who you are, how you found me and if you have a blog of your own! I wonder how long it would take to get to 1 million? Hmmm I guess it's something I'll have to work towards!
Blessings on ya!

Pregnant

No I'm not, but seeing Laura today made me remanice! Lucky for you ;) Do not procede if stretch marks gross you out, there is an abundance of them!

That's me and my momma. I really wore some interesting things when I was pregnant didn't I? You wear whatever fits and feels good. I was pregnant with Adon here. 19 years old.

I can't belive how tiny Adon was!!! He was just SO itty bitty! I was 20 years old here.

I really don't wear leggins unless I'm pregnant and I want to be really comfy, I only did it with Emma.

This is me at 23, pregnant with Ephrim. My tummy was by far the biggest with him. Dalen loves my tummy when I'm pregnant. I think he would want more children just to have the belly. These pictures were a lot of fun, one of our family was making a funny face no matter what we did!

Well that's all (for now) who knows maybe I'll have more to add in a year or two.. skinny ones!

TP for my family!

Okay, toilet paper! My goodness, we go through a lot of it. There are of course four of us that use it but we're going through a roll a day if not more. It's really crazy! What's your TP situation? Do you have rules and regulations? Do I need to readjust my budget to compensate? Let me know your toilet paper ways.

Not so fast baby Shane!

Okay well Baby Shane didn't come yet.. I'm sure it'll be soon enough though. No worries, Laura has not been laboring for three days. She is doing good.. Just wanted to let you all know why I hadn't posted any Baby Shane pictures yet!

So what else is new? Not a whole lot.. I'm working at getting the house clean (I know I say that a lot... I do it a lot) and getting the garden weeded. I'm hoping to get the school room down stairs set up a little more this week. I also have a tonne of sewing to do. I made Starla a new sling, you can check it out in the photo album on the side bar. I love it and it's my best work yet!!! I actually have a lot of sewing projects that I have to get done this week.. I'll finish this week Laurie ;)

Ephrim is a walkin' fool (he's not really a fool but I do like saying that) and has decided that he LOVES!!!! plugins and cords. Great fun!

Anything else? Other than giving up sweets, (see my fitness blog in the side bar) not really. Not that I can think of right now at least.
Oh I found a new site that I'm loving
Wear Your Baby
Let me know if you need any sling help!

That's my boy (s)

If you look below you'll be able to see a little clip of Ephrim walking! It's pretty exciting and he's doing really well... getting better everyday. Practice make perfect! Or at least better :)

As you can see above, my boys love their daddy... Eprhim can't wait until he can really have a coke with his dad!

The other day Adon was outside working on his four wheeler (he props it up on a toy a lays under it on a piece of cardboard, so he can diagnose it and fix it.) and his Daddy gave him his first tool box. He was SO proud, I think he had a smile on his face for the rest of the day. Today when I was going into the shop I noticed that he had even written his own name on it. That's something that I hope never fades away! The name, and the love that my boys have for their Daddy!

Cluster Blogger

So I've realized that I am a cluster blogger. I don't faithfully blog everyday but when I do I do a bunch of different ones all in one day. Sorry things have been a little lacking around here. I've been working on getting my fitness blog up and running. I have had some exciting news on that front too. The church board has just okayed my proposal to start a saturday morning workout at the church. It will be an aerobic workout to a Leslie Sansone workout video called "Walk the Walk". It's a great video that has awesome background music and an amazing message. I hope that lots of women will be blessed by this, so pray for me as I work to get this started, and pray that God would be glorified... even in track pants and tennies!

Weight Loss Blog

Well I've started a weight loss/ fitness blog. Hey why not right?

Something old to something new

I am quickly realizing how exspencive fabric is. I LOVE IT when people give me fabric that they had kicking around. Another thing that I love is when people give me old clothes that they can't use that have cool patterns or embroydery. As I enter into the world of purses I have many visions of quilted jean bags with all different patterns and grains, I dream in fabric.

So if you have anything hiding in the skinny bin (we all know what that is) or in the fat bin, that you know deep down inside you will never wear(I'm really excited for any of you who will never have to wear anything from the fat bin again), but you really love it too much to get rid of, maybe it would make a cute purse, sewn by your truley of course!!

Theme song for my life!

Okay I know some of you are gritting your teeth because I've officially become one of those bloggers that has a theme song. But seriously if you want to know me, you need to know my music too, because it's a HUGE part of me, yes I am musical. Starla bought me the Jars of Clay CD "Redemption Songs" this song is on it and I can't get enough of it. Other than reminding me of Tom Cochrine (LIFE IS A HIGWAY!!!! I WANNA RIDE IT ALL NIGHT LONG!!!) Speaking of Highways, are you on the narrow path or the wide one? Tell me what you think.

Anyway if you really don't like my theme song, just turn it off, don't be silly about it and stop reading my blog, just push the stop button on the right of the screen, and if you're not able to push a button, well, I'm sure you can imagine what I think about that. Well not really, I am a really positive nice person.

Anyway it's an amazing song, I'm sure with time I'll post a new one... Maybe I can gets Hannah's amazing song on here.... hmmm I'll have to look into that one!

Have fun, tap your toes, bob your head, and lift it up!!!

That's My Man!!!

That's My Man!!!

People often ask me what first attracted me to Dalen (since we are drastically different) and the answer has always been the same.

This is what he was driving. Now these were the old rims, but it went fast, it looked good and low, it rumbled and there was A LOT of bass involved. These things combined are the official mating call of the TIRE BITER!

Of course there were other things that attracted me to my husband.

One night he was working on Steve's car with him. I, being the official girl of the group at the time, had joined them. I was sitting on a chunk of wood, probably cedar, we were at Lawrences. Of course we were all drinking cokes, suddenly I realized that I had been oggling Dalen's rear, in horror I snapped out of it only to realize that in the process my entire Coke had poured into my lap, so I let out a yelp, drawing the attention of the owner of said rear and was utterly humiliated. That was the day I realized I was attracted to Dalen.

There were many other things that made me want Dalen, the fact that he didn't want me was a biggie! The fact that he was a Godly man with great character did help! But the biggest thing was Angela. Oh I still grit my teeth when I say it.. she was a really nice girl visiting from back east. Dalen would drive her home everynight and she would have to sit RIGHT NEXT TO HIM!!!!! Well that was it, I had to make my move, and I did. I got him, he made me work harder than anyone else ever had, and honestly it didn't last the first time. But God knew what we needed and brought me back to Him, and Dalen was there waiting with forgiveness in tow. Ultimately it was his Love that won me, for me and for the Lord, he didn't want me for what I had to "give" him, he wanted to protect me, to lead me. He wanted to take care of me.

I love that man, more than I ever did, and more everyday!

I'm taking a week off.

Well it's official! I'm burnt out! After a week of full days everyday I am done. I didn't even have time to clean this week. So that started today. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow but other than that, I'm not leaving the house, unless it's to do something fun! There is a lot of sewing and cleaning and baking to be done here. Not to mention the packing away of all of the kids toys.

I have realized that my children seem to think that they are above me, they don't take me seriously. Adon always has this high and mighty look in his eye when I dicipline him and Emma, well Emma is a few things, extremely dramatic, very conceited and obsessed with anything princess. She is so focused on the way that she looks that she will sit in front of a mirror aplying lip gloss, ALL DAY!!! You may think I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not at all. The other day she told one of our friends "You're not pretty" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happened?!?!?!?!?!

Any advice would be SO welcome. I know that we put far too much attention on the way that she looked because I wanted to make sure that she knew she was beautiful, apparently we took it a little to far, and the fact that she is a pretty little girl and hears it all the time does not help.

So step one is to get rid of everything princess, all of her dress up things, purses, sunglasses (of which she has five pairs or so) hair pretties, chap stick, perfume and the like. Now please don't think that I take my child makeup shopping, any of you that know me will know that I am EXREMELY conservative and dont' wear makeup myself, she just ends up with it from other people. So it's all going. She is going to be plain, and learn that people still love her and think that she's wonderful. If that doesn't get us anywhere than I will just have to ask for some devine intervention (any devine interventors out there?).

Step two will be to pack away everything but the K'nex, lego and coloring stuff. It's all going. These kids of mine have been spoiled and they're going to know what it's like to entertain themselves and play! This will be the first step in taking them down a notch.

I know it sounds aweful when I say "Taking them down a notch" but honestly it needs to be done, they are assuming they have a right to toys and lip gloss, they are telling me what will be done and when, well I'm done with it and it's going to change.

WOAH! sorry about that, just had to justify myself for a minute.

So on top of that Eprhim is starting to cut his MOLARS! What is with this little baby, he's nine months old!!!!
So if any of you are wondering, I am still up for company this week, especially since the house will be wonderfully clean, so please come by, unless I don't know you and unless I'm home alone and you're a man (very conservative). I have many varieties of tea and I even have coffee (it's a small miracle) so please come see me and sew something, I'll teach you if you want!

God Bless you this weekend! Have fun!!!

Milestones and memories!

My big boy, pretty huge isn't he? He can't even fill the swing yet!

Well it's officially happened! Ephrim is going to walk. On July 1st he took his first step. It's pretty crazy. He's still so teeny tiny, the craziest thing was that Adon was even smaller and younger than him when he started walking.

So as you can see in the above picture we went to the park on Monday, after the races Dalen took us for dinner at Dairy Queen and then we walked over to the library park.

We had a lot of fun and I always love taking pictures at the park!

So we had heard about a dog that sounded perfect for us. It didn't work out but Adon had heard me when I was on the phone with them. Yesterday in the van he started quizzing Dalen on the dog, asking him if we can get the dog, why we can't and such. Out of the blue Emma asks Dalen "Do you want to have another baby Daddy?!"

It was hillarious, it's nice to know that I can be a nice submissive wife but still get answers to the questions I'm dying to know. His answer was NO! by the way!

Dalen and Adon have bad allergies, yesterday morning Dalen took some of Adon's allergy medication (I keep forgetting to buy his) anyway, it was super sweet and he made a comment on it being bad. Last night at dinner time he seemed a little grumpy and Emma said "Your medicine was bad this morning Daddy? Is that why you're mad?"

I love it! Dalen loves it too so it's really fun to see them interact, and she gets to him enough to make a difference. Daddies and Daughters are an amazing thing.

Daily Dancer

Okay so I must admit, I love laughing at people doing silly things, I especially laugh when they screw up and get hurt. For those of you who aren't on my MSN list then here is my new funnest thing. You may not appreciate it but please don't hold it against me... I also cannot guarantee this page as I have not read it in it's entirety!

Races, day 1 and day 2

Well they're telling us that it only got to 28 yesterday. I have a hard time beliveing it personally. Being outside the whole time. It was day 1 of the races. It went pretty well. There was a lot of red lighting and breaking out. It just got hotter and hotter and the guys were hooking up better and getter.

Ed was racing Dallas' mustang (he's trying to sell it) and he was having a blast!!! It was really exciting, it was his first time and he got a 5.8 reaction time. For those of you who don't know a reaction time is how fast a person leaves the line once the light turns green, a perfect light is a 5. Any faster than that and you jumped the gun and you lose.

The rest of the guys didn't last too long unfortunately. But we all had a lot of fun! I wasn't my usual cheer leader as I was kinda preoccupied sewing. What was I sewing you ask?
The one on the left is for me but the one on the right is for Christy! There are three of us now that have pink bags made by me, we're the new spin on the red hat group!!!

So day two of the races was also really good. Dalen went further this time he was the last one in. Poor cousin Janette ended up redlighting on the first round, and she drove here from Burns Lake sunday morning. It was frustrating for us even. Well now it's monday (this post spanned over the weekend because I couldn't get pictures to load) I'm waiting on some racing pictures from Sheldon, then I'll post those. I have a tonne of cleaning to do and a tonne of laundry to fold. I hope you had a good weekend (when are you coming home Star?)
