A favorite

One day, a six -year-old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was explaining evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy: TEACHER: Tommy do you see a tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky. TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky. TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because He isn't there. He just doesn't exist .
A little girl spoke up wanting to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yesssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the Teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No.
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today, She doesn't have one.

I love this one! Everyone should send this to everyone they know, especially today with prayer restricted in schools.

Getting ready for Christmas

Well it's begun. I'm getting ready for Christmas. I know it's along ways away, but when you make the majority of your gifts you need to get started early. I'll be posting about my candy making days soon (I will be opening my home to make candy!!! Woo hoo!) but for now I need your help.

There are two things that I need and I'm going to ask all of you for help getting them.

The first thing I need is crayons. If you have any broken crayons, bits of crayons or just crayons that you are not going to use, please let me know and I will come and pick them up.

The second thing that I need is clothes, sheets, towels. Anything that you are not using and you want to get out of your house. I want to make a braided rug or two and I need fabric, so if you have stuff that is stained and just sitting in your basement, or just generally ugly fabric (oh man I just got of a wack of ugly fabric... go figure) please let me know and I'll come and take it off of your hands.

Thanks so much!

While I'm on the topic of Christmas, what Christ-centered family traditions do you have in your family? What's your favorite Christmas memory? What's your favorite Christmas song/carol.

It's hard to believe that soon all of these beautiful golden leaves will be hidden under a thick beautiful blanket of snow(hopefully snow and not sleet, rain and ice). I'm very excited! And at the same time I'm not, my little boy will be 5 on the 21st of December!!! Yowza! It's actually pretty exciting, I'm very excited about the little man he's becoming, we've got a lot of fun, tears and work ahead of us. One day (Lord willing) we'll stand before God in a LARGE Wiebe clan and He will be very pleased with the work we have done! We'll keep praying for that.

God Bless your day!

Check in

Cute flylady picture pending, blogger is being a pain again!

Wow sorry it's been like a week, well over a week, since I last blogged. I don't really have a whole lot to say even still... same old story, try to get my house clean. There has to be an easier way to do this. I think it's time to subscribe to Flylady again! I do really like Flylady. I haven't seen her page in a while but she always made me laugh, and take control of my home. Something has to change!!!

I was not born with a work ethic, or no one taught me one. There is nothing there, it's why I was fired from every job I ever had (well I quit the last two at copperside). I was an aweful employee, and I still am.

Am I going to sit here complaining? NOPE!!! It's time for a change. It's painful and I really wan to crawl back into bed, will I?! NOPE!!! (now that's I've said that I won't, eventhough I didn't really mean it, I have no choice)

Come on people, phone me today and ask me, "What are you doing Sirena? Did you do your five minute room rescue today?"

Come on I dare you! (but not if you're a scary blog stalker, you are not welcome to phone me and I will sick my brother on you.

Birthdays

Today in our family we are celebrating two birthdays, the first one is most important.. Ephrim's. My little boy, the first baby I delivered naturally, a testing of my faith and trust in God, and born on my ninth Christian Birthday. So today is a celebration of his life, and mine, because with out Jesus, this family wouldn't be. Thank you Lord for saving my life, and creating Ephrim's.

I listened to this song during my labor and delivery with Ephrim. The Lord just kept on telling me to breath, everytime I needed it.

There really isn't enough that I can say about my boy, I look back and miss every little cuddle, wish I could have every new experience all over, and know that it will never be the same. I look forward and know that there are many more experiences to come. I have a hope for his future. Ephrim has been God's ministering tool in my life. He has softened me, and given me a mothers heart. Thank you Father for this blessing.

Psalm 127: 3 "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate."

Cutting Hair

Well I did it.. I gave Ephrim an actual hair cut, not just a trim of the sides and back, I cut it all! He has such fine hair, he looks like it's thinning! Oh well he's stinkin' cute and I'm very proud of myself... I messed up on the right side by his ear, but I do every time. He sat still so nicely, he devoured about ten q-tips (he didn't actually injest them) but it did the trick and he was such a good boy. He didn't like when I did the back because he couldn't see what I was doing. I didn't use clippers at all, I forgot that I had some and I think they would have been too much for him. I just used the little scissors that came in my first aid kit, I think that I would like to get some actual hair cutting scissors, if I can cut Ephrim's then I should be able to cut Adon's too.

Ephrim with his mop of hair before... look how red it looks!

The new doo. My big boy, all growed up! It's his birthday tomorrow!
Hmmmm, look alike much???

Flab and Sag

Okay so for those of you who were Flab and Sag readers I thought I would give you an update on the weight war. Hmmm I like the sound of that!
THIS IS WAR!!!!!!!
You're going down sugar!
Prepare for defeat fat!!!!
Okay so I've been doing my best to eat no sweets. This has become almost an issue of obedience. It sounds funny but whenever I go to something sweet there is conviction. I don't know if God is helping me through this or teaching me something or both but I am thankful. Okay so last week I was 195 and now I'm 188.

Measurements -
Bust - 47
Waist - 37
Hips - 48
Neck - 14.5
Upper Arm - 14

So I really haven't been drinking enough water, I'm going to keep working on that. I haven't been drinking very much milk though so that's helped a lot. Anyway I will keep you updated. 18 pounds to go and I'll be able to fit in my wedding dress! Goal # 1. 38 more and I'll be at goal #2! 48 more and I'll be at my final goal!

Christmas in October

Last night while Dalen was working away at the computer he decided to bid on this for me. This is a VERY nice machine! AND WE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!! This is my official Christmas present. I am so excited and I can't wait for it to get here... well I can wait, but I'm really happy! Now if only it could get here a lot sooner! Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain now!

Merry Christmas everyone!
